Nana Addo assures supporters he is fine

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians and supporters of the party that he is in good condition and remains unhurt after their campaign platform collapsed in Kumasi, on Sunday.

The stage on which Nana Addo and some party stalwarts stood to address a crowd of supporters in the Ashanti region as part of the party’s regional rally imploded as a result of an unknown cause.

He and other leading members of the party including former President Kufour who tumbled are all safe.

Nana Addo, speaking to the media after the incident, indicated that he was “fine. It was an unfortunate incident. I hear all kinds of funny things when these things happen. All I know is that I was speaking and the stage gave way. Dr Addo Kufuor kindly came and gave me a quick examination when I got back to the house and I have a clean bill of health.”

Nana Addo expressed no worry over the incident and therefore stressed that “the followership of the NPP should rest content it is one of those incidents.”

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party is expected to be in Koforidua today for their Eastern Regional rally.
