DSP Tehoda files for injunction on IGP

Former Deputy Head of the Police Commercial Crimes Unit, DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda, has filed a motion in court to enjoin the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Paul Tawiah Quaye, to desist from advancing any course against her.

She prayed the court to put an injuction on the IGP. Mrs. Tehoda who has been interdicted by the Police administration for her involvement in the concaine-baking soda brouhaha some months ago has since been fighting for her reinstatement.

Earlier before filing the application, she had charged the Chief Superintendent of Police in charge of the Rapid Deployment Unit, Nantogmah Yakubu Aggrey and Chairman of the Central Disciplinary Board, COP Rose Bio Atinga, with contempt for allegedly not complying with a court order.

Her lawyer, Ephraim Vordoagu, talking to Citi Fm, explained that the application is to deter the IGP from taking any further steps in relation to his client’s dismissal from the Police Service.

He further stated that “the Attorney General has just entered appearance and they were represented by a Senior State Attorney by name, Cyril Ackolaste who indicated to the court that our docket was just assigned to him yesterday and that he needed some time.

So we thought it wise to have that one adjourned to 23rd.” The court, presided over by Justice Kofi Essel Mensah, adjourned hearing to January 23, 2013.
