Former President Kufour canvasses for votes in the Central Region

Former President John Agyekum Kufour has urged residents in Central Region to repose confidence in Nana Addo Akufo Addo, Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party.

Addressing a large crowd at Mankessim, former President Kufour implored the people to believe in Nana Addo who he said will restore the nation by introducing some economic interventions that are beneficial to the nation’s progress.

He appealed to the people to vote in an NPP government come December, for Nana Addo to implement his free S.H.S policy and also provide quality health care.

Speaking to the indigenes, former President Kufour said the time has come for them to bring back the New Patriotic Party after voting for the incumbent government under the late President John Evans Atta Mills’ leadership.

President Kufour advised the people to cast their votes for Nana Addo for a continuity of the good works of the NPP government under his administration.

The Central Region has over the years been a swing region with voters whose loyalty is not strictly drawn to any of the two major parties – NPP and the National Democratic Congress –

He further asked the people to switch their spotlight on the 2012 Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party on December 7 and ensure the NPP returns to power to abate the hardship that has befallen Ghanaians.

President Kufour in 2000 obtained 60% votes in the run-off and 59% votes in 2004 in the Central Region during the general elections.

Meanwhile, Nana Akufo Addo entreated his numerous supporters to cast their ballots for him and the party, so, he can save Ghanaians from the economic hardships that have besieged the nation.

He insisted that a second term for President Mahama will intensify the hardships meted out to Ghanaians under the NDC government and therefore appealed to them to give him their consent in the general elections.

He promised to chuck out the hardships rained down on Ghanaians by the ruling NDC under the Mahama-led administration.
