Oforikrom NYEP Office Shuts Down As Result Of A Gunshot
The Oforikrom Office of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in Kumasi has shut down operations temporarily for security reasons.
The office is said to be on the hook after a gun bullet was fired at it on Friday.
The staff members were attending to their daily duties when a bullet hit the roof of the office compelling them to take to their heels.
Though the workers were thrown into a state of shock by the sudden event, none of them sustained injury.
According to the Mr Evans Ablordeppey, NYEP Coordinator, the decision was taken to ensure the safety of the workers.
The police have since commenced investigations to ascertain the cause of the gun fire and arrest the culprit.
Addressing the media in Kumasi on Sunday, Mr. Evans Ablordeppey, called on the workers to keep calm as the police investigate the incident.
He assured the workers that the office will soon be opened for operations to commence.
