Kufuor Neglected Upper West
President John Mahama has dared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to identify a single developmental project they executed in the Upper West Region under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.
The President did not mince words when he said former President Kufuor's leadership did not bring relief to the region but rather sought to downgrade the region.
He asserted the people of Upper West did not benefit from the national cake during the previous regime.
President Mahama made these comments when he addressed a rally in Wa on Monday.
He reminded the people of a number of interventions by the first NDC government to enhance the progress of the region and assured them of his commitment improving their lives.
He said his government will fulfil its promises to the people, which include constructing a hospital for the region.
He attributed the delay in the establishment of the regional hospital to the Arab spring but expressed optimism over its completion in order to ameliorate the health problems in the region.
He intimated that the government has enlisted the assistance of new financiers for the commencement of the project.
President John Mahama refuted claims of corruption raised against him by the major opposition party and advised Ghanaians to treat them with contempt since they are only targeted at demeaning his reputation.
